EDU-AI: Artificial Intelligence in Education Course Suite

This professional development program equips new and experienced Heads of Department (HODs) and supervisors with the skills, tools, and strategies necessary for effective departmental leadership.

By the end of the course, participants will have developed a departmental management plan and delivered a presentation demonstrating their leadership vision and strategies.

Course description

This intensive, two-days online workshop is designed to empower you to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) as an intelligent partner. This is a practical, hands-on laboratory, not a theoretical lecture. Over two focused days, educators from all disciplines and grade levels will engage in applied learning. You will depart with immediately applicable skills and the confidence to integrate cutting-edge AI tools into your planning, instruction, and assessment workflows.

Course Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this workshop, participants will be proficient in:

  • AI-Augmented Instructional Design: Utilize AI platforms to generate, refine, and differentiate lesson plans, creative learning activities, and multimedia presentations aligned with specific curriculum standards and student needs.
  • Dynamic Assessment Creation: Develop a variety of formative and summative assessments (multiple-choice, true/false, matching, short-answer) using AI, and learn to critically evaluate and customize generated content for accuracy and pedagogical soundness.
  • Interactive Classroom Technology Integration: Move beyond basic projection to master interactive display systems (e.g., ActivPanel) and leverage AI to create immersive simulations, personalized learning pathways, and collaborative digital projects.
  • Critical Evaluation of AI Tools: Develop a framework for ethically and effectively selecting, implementing, and reviewing AI-generated content, ensuring it serves as a supplement to—not a replacement for—professional expertise and human connection.
